SPECIFICATION OF PEARL PIGMENT

 

1.General properties:

*Non-toxic  *Temperature stable up to 800°C
*Non-flammable  *Electrically non-conductive
*Highly chemical resistance  
*Insoluble in water (as well as solvents), but easily dispersible in water-borne Systems.

2.Detailed information:

*Application in plastics 
pearl luster pigments are suitable for transparent plastics. Since Pearl Pigment is an internal optical phenomenon, high clarity plastics give the most striking results. Other transparent pigments could be blended with pearl pigments for use in plastics. Opaque pigments will diminish pearl luster effects while used.
Normal pearl luster pigments concentration

The normal concentration of Pearl Luster Pigments incorporated into plastics is 0.5-1.5%, excluding special cases. The thicker the sheet thickness or moulded products are, so the concentration of the Pearl Luster Pigments requirement will be lower. The thinner the product, the higher the pigment concentration needed. However, please note that too high a concentration of them does not increase the pearl luster effect On the contrary it will cause a poor effect. 

*APPLICATION IN PAINTS
pearl luster pigments possess physical stability and can be used in water-based, solvent- based paints and powder coatings . Pearlescent paints can be prepared by incorporating the proportioned amount of pearl pigments into a clear lacquer or clear powder coating, this is the same for an enamel. Pearl luster pigments are supplied in various grades and each leads to a particular effect. A suitable grade should be selected according to the application. Pearl luster pigments are suitable for electrostatic coating. In addition they have good acid and alkali resistance. 

Normal Concentration

The normal concentration of Pearl Pigments for paints depends on the types and shapes to be painted and the painting or coating process The following are normal concentrations used in various paints:Paints

*APPLICATION IN PRINTING INKS 
pearl pigments are available for printing inks as conventional pigments. There are various to choose from according to particle size range and should be selected according to the individual printing process. Pearl luster inks can be easily prepared, by the incorporation of pearl luster pigments into the ink medium.

*Application in paper
pearl luster pigments are suitable to be used in many kind of coated and specially paper, such as advertisement-used paper, name card paper, calendar paper, wall paper, and many kind of pearl luster packing paper. Pearl luster effects with colors of silver white, golden, rainbow, special polychrome pearl luster effects are available.Oxen pearl luster pigments are added in the sizing process: add 3-5%(weight rate) Oxen pearl luster pigments to transparent sizing agent to have special color effects.Oxen pearl luster pigments are added in the Beating Process: Add Oxen pearl Luster pigments to the pulp, then beating the pulp according to the process requirements to achieve designed effect. 

*Application in leather 
pearl luster pigments applid to leathers and PU/PVC synthetic leathers can be directly blend into inks to use for printing on surface, also it can be added directly to transparent plastic resins to use for rolling and scraping production. 

*Application in Cosmetics
Pearl Luster Pigments are suitable to be used in lipstic eyes-shadows, nail polishes, make-up powders, etc. Heavy metal contents are well controlled and qualified in conformlity to cosmetics standard Requirements.

NOTES for application: 
1. products can't be stirred in high speed blender for a long time. 
2. products can't be pressed and grinded at high-pressure.
3. Blending pearl pigments with other opaque pigments is required to be tested before using.
