HS Series Chrome Yellow Pigments Treated With Organic Silicon
The main composition of chrome yellow pigment is lead chromate(PbCrO4). It is brightly-colored and with high tinting strength and strong covering power, good adhesion and unfolding power. But it is not ideal in chemical stability and weatherability because of the properties of chemical composition. Chrome yellow pigment usually coated particles with silica (SiO2) was expected to be good weatherability and fastness. This method made the pigment particle surface to be hydrophilic and the compatibility of pigment with oil medium get worse, because silica is a hydrophilic inorganic substance. This made the oil absorption of pigment to be risen remarkably and water-tolerant power of paint or printing ink to be worse. The covering power of pigment was dropped markedly down because lots of silicate was used in the process of coated particle. Based on many repeated experiments and use of international experience for reference , we have successfully developed and produced HS series chrome yellow pigment treated with organic silicon to overcome above defects. It has good weatherability and fastness. The dispersion stability is very good in oil medium because of particle surface's lipophilicity. The covering and coloring powder is better remarkable than ordinary chrome yellow pigment because of the good dispersion. It is widely used in the fields of paints, printing ink, plastics etc.
